4 Japanese Companies Interested in Working on Airport Projects in Indonesia

Japanese companies have shown keen interest in contributing to the development and operation of airports in Indonesia, particularly Sultan Aji Muhammad Sepinggan Airport in Balikpapan. During the Air Transportation Working Group (ATWG) event held from January 18 to 20, 2024, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) shared that four Japanese companies—Japan Airport Terminal Co. Ltd, JALUX Inc., Taisei, and SECOM Co. Ltd—are eager to collaborate in this venture. These companies boast extensive experience in constructing and managing major airports in Japan, such as Haneda Airport and Narita Airport, along with international projects like Beijing International Airport in China and New Ulaanbaater Airport in Mongolia. Battery Factory Will Be Built in Morowali

The Indonesia Morowali Industrial Park (IMIP) is gearing up for the electric vehicle boom with plans to establish a battery factory in Morowali, Central Sulawesi. The Managing Director of PT IMIP, Hamid Mina, confirmed the venture, noting that the investors for the project are from China. Although the investment value remains undisclosed, IMIP has allocated land for the factory construction, emphasizing the need for a carefully chosen location to avoid disturbances like dust. Hamid expressed confidence in the construction timeline, citing IMIP’s track record in completing various projects, such as a power plant (PLTU), in just 18 months. Continue reading
